I got my financial aid packet from SVA the other day. It was incredibly depressing. They basically told me they would give me 5000 for the year and another 5000 if I do work study. WHAT? Thanks for NOTHING. My parents pretty much wont be helping me with my tuition so this isn’t even going to make a dent in the debt I am going to have in 4 years. So even with the “financial aid” tuition is 37000 a year! GOODNESS GRACIOUS! This doesnt even include food or books or any of that crap!

I apparently wasnt aware that financial aid actually meant, “Oh here’s a loan for you.” I thought financial aid meant that I wouldnt have to pay that money back, ever. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT I WOULDNT HAVE FILLED IT OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE. I could have gotten my own loans. It’s a bunch of bullshit if you ask me.

College is so expensive, especially art school. I dont even see why an art school would be expensive in the first place. Artists do not make that much money. So, of course, paying for school will take us about 50 years. Is it even worth going into art? I dont know if the money is worth it, but the career choice will be worth it. At least i will enjoy doing it. Hopefully I will end up making enough money to survive. I plan on living in NYC after college, so Im going to need a well paying job, or 3.
